Don't leave home without...
Packing is just about the worst part of any trip (according to Jamilah). Just in case you also dread this simple task, we've listed a few items we find extra helpful on the island or may be useful for your time in Barbados
-
Passport (and visa if needed)
-
Currency: Everywhere on the island takes US Dollars in addition to local currency. Most restaurants take credit cards, but taxis primarily take cash.
-
The address of your hotel or residence in Barbados (You will need this to get through immigration)
-
Key contacts in case of emergency
-
Medicines
-
Chargers for electronics. Barbados outlets are the same as those found in the US (110 volt). If you are coming from outside of the US, make sure to bring an adapter (or three!)
-
Unlocked phone (We have found reasonable SIM pricing with the carrier Flow. There is also plenty of WiFi available.)
- Sun:
-
Sunglasses
-
Hat or visor
-
Sunscreen
-
-
Beach:
-
Beach Towels
-
Swimsuits (consider more than one, because they don't always dry overnight)
-
Sarong or other beach cover up
-
Sandals
-
-
Bug spray (mosquitoes abound, ugh!)
-
Umbrella or rain jacket designed for hot weather
-
Comfortable walking shoes (there's lots to explore beyond the beach)
-
Note: All the events with the exception of the Catholic Ceremony will be held in a garden setting. We recommend you leave the stilettos at home!
